The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint a new director for its premier Twenty20 tournament, Pakistan Super League (PSL), The News reported today.
Currently, all the matters related to the PSL are being looked after by PCB’s Director Commercial Babar Hamid. However, following his failure to successfully organize the sixth edition of PSL this year, the Board has decided to hire a permanent director.
PSL 6 was postponed in early March after multiple cases of Covid-19 emerged in the bio-secure bubble of the tournament. The remaining matches will now be played in June.
PCB will advertise for PSL’s new director in the coming days. According to the English daily, people interested for the position can apply for it by May 13.
The new director’s first assignment will be to manage PSL 6’s remaining matches that are scheduled from June 1 to 20 in Karachi.
