PETALING JAYA: Our cricketers will receive international recognition with the inking of a two-year partnership with India’s premier digital sports platform, FanCode.
FanCode has acquired exclusive rights to live-stream 500 Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA) matches to over its reported 15 million subscribers in India.
The in-house production team will be shadowed by students from the neighbouring universities which will allow students to further master the art of the industry with first-hand, on-the-job experiences. Our local talents have a great chance to impress the clubs in India which could lead to a training or playing stint there.
MCA president Mahinda Vallipuram said the partnership augurs well for the local cricket scene as they can showcase the passion and quality of our game to the Indian subcontinent.
“I believe this partnership will open doors to greater involvement with corporate bodies and tourism agencies.
“There is now a platform for us to become partners with a return on investment through targeted marketing programmes both nationally and internationally, keeping in mind that cricket is the second most-watched sport in the world, with a reach of more than two billion people, ” said Mahinda.
The MCA are optimistic that the T10 Bash (March 26-28) as well as the previously stalled T20 Super Series which is expected to be held from March 30-31 can resume, pending approval from the Youth and Sports Ministry.
